I was wondering how often you guys use your baby monitor…
I received one at my baby shower, and I have never used it. In fact, my daughter is 10 weeks old, and the monitor is still in it’s sealed packaging. I am considering returning it, and here’s why…I work 8 hours a day, so she is normally at a sitters for at least 8.5, I am never more than 10 feet from her in the evenings, and we co-sleep, because I breastfeed. Even if we weren’t co-sleeping, she would be in the same room, because I’m a single mom, living with my parents, so only one bedroom for us.
Just wondering if that’s really a necessity. We have a 2-story with an open staircase, there literally is nowhere in the house I wouldn’t be able to hear her cry even if it wasn’t loud, plus she’s going to sleep in our room for the first year anyway since I’m breastfeeding. The only time I can think of is if she was down for a nap and I shut the door so I wouldn’t disturb her. Do you use one? Do you consider a monitor to be a necessity, an optional item, or a waste of money?
Ok my son has just turn one. his room door and mine make like an L. So anyway my mother n law and a few others have told me its time to stop using the baby monitor in the middle of the night. I don’t use it in the day when he is napping because I leave his door open. And I sleep with the baby monitor inches from my ear. He can scream loud this I know. However, I don’t really know if its time. I’m scared I’ll sleep through him waking up and he’ll be screaming forever before waking me up. OOO he sleep through the night now. He normal goes to bed between 8 and 10 and wakes up between 6:30 and 8 in the morning. Whats your advise???
A cool new baby monitor that monitors it’s breathing… watch. Not in stores yet, we need sponsers! For more information contact Ken Pacunas at kpacunas@cisco.com.
I have an ‘Angel Care’ monitor and often it seems to buzz loudly when I have electrical appliances plugged in or lights on – it seems to be effected by the electrical current of my house.
I turn all the lights off at night and leave nothing plugged in, but sometimes it still buzzes and is very annoying when I am trying to get to sleep.
I bought a baby monitor off of ebay yesterday for that retails at . My husband had a fit because he wants a video baby monitor…infact..the one he wants is just shy of 0….Don’t you think this is too much for a baby monitor? Most people will only use it once..maybe twice..
need i also say..that our baby is never out of our sight really? He sleeps in our room..we have him sleep in a cradle downstairs until we go to bed…we only got one just in case we ever need to use it..
