Picking up other signals through a baby monitor?

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

How far of a signal do baby monitors generally have? We just turned off the main end of the baby monitor, and we forgot to turn off the receiving end (the listening end) and we started picking up a signal of a family having a conversation. I didn’t think the monitors had that great of a signal? And even so, what is the likelihood of it picking up a signal from something else? (Some other electronic device)

What baby monitor do you have? Are you happy with it?

This has been a toughie for me and hubby. The reviews on all baby monitors are very mixed, and neither brand nor price really seem to have anything to do with whether or not people like a monitor. Just wondering what you have and use, and maybe what you’ve used in the past. What have your experiences been like with those brands?

How to extend the range of a video baby monitor?

          Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Does anyone know how to extend the range of a video baby monitor? Our monitor is 900mhz. We live in an old building full of steel and concrete so the signal doesn’t go well between rooms and is lost entirely between the baby room and the master bedroom. There are boosters for wifi networks so I would assume there is some technology or the same one that would work for baby monitors.
